AltaLink, a Berkshire Hathaway Energy company, is seeking a Senior SCADA Design Engineer to join their Project Development Department in Calgary. This role combines engineering expertise with leadership opportunities in a dynamic utility environment. The position involves designing and integrating Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) facilities, working with cutting-edge technology in power transmission.

Responsibilities For Sr. Scada Design Engineer

  • Provide SCADA technical input into conceptual engineering, project scoping & estimating
  • Create and support writing of Design Basis memorandums (DBM)
  • Review technical drawings & specifications
  • Complete SCADA design of facilities including station drawings and SCADA device configuration
  • Install SCADA configuration files and provide technical support during construction
  • Develop SCADA configuration work plans
  • Maintain relationships with project management personnel and contractors

Requirements For Sr. Scada Design Engineer

Linux
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Telecommunication or Computer Engineering
  • Professional Engineer registration with APEGA
  • 5-10 years of SCADA design, testing and configuration experience
  • Strong analytical, risk assessment and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willing to travel within the province approximately 20% of the time
