Our interns write real software and collaborate with experienced software development engineers on projects that matter to our customers. We offer two internship durations: 3 months and 6 months. As an intern, you'll be matched with a manager and mentor, working on impactful projects in areas such as distributed systems, data mining, automation, optimization, scalability, and security.
Key responsibilities include: • Collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market. • Designing and building innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment. • Creating solutions for distributed systems with exposure to cutting-edge technologies at incredible scale and speed. • Building scalable, fault-tolerant, low-cost, and easy-to-manage distributed storage, index, and query systems. • Working in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.
You'll have opportunities for personal and professional development, networking, and participating in activities with other interns. Many of our technologies overlap, and you'll likely work with Amazon Web Services (AWS), the product catalog, or services to better personalize customer experiences.
Required qualifications: • Knowledge of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, operating systems, algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis) • Programming skills in C/C++, Python, Java, or Perl • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields
Preferred qualifications: • Fluency in English • Experience with distributed systems, algorithms, and relational databases • Knowledge of optimization mathematics • Experience in areas such as Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, or Deep Learning • Familiarity with relevant technologies and tools
