Description For ADC Engineer III, Amazon Dedicated Cloud Relational Engineering

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an ADC Engineer to join their Amazon Dedicated Clouds (ADC) team, focusing on mission-critical services for U.S. Intelligence Community and Defense agencies. This role combines cloud computing expertise with high-security clearance requirements, offering a unique opportunity to work with AWS's largest distributed systems.

The position is part of the ADC DBS Relational team, supporting all RDS products including Amazon Aurora, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB. As an ADC Engineer, you'll be responsible for troubleshooting, operations support, and automating operational processes while working with some of the most demanding customers in the intelligence community.

The role requires strong technical expertise in systems administration, scripting, and cloud technologies, along with an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. You'll be working in AWS's Utility Computing (UC) organization, supporting various services from foundational offerings like S3 and EC2 to new product innovations.

Requirements For ADC Engineer III, Amazon Dedicated Cloud Relational Engineering

  • Associate's degree, or Cloud+ or GICSP or GSEC or SSCP certification
  • 5+ years of systems administration experience with Linux/Unix in production environments
  • 4+ years of experience working with scripting languages
  • Experience with DNS, DHCP, SSH, HTTP, TCP/IP and other common network protocols
  • 5+ years of systems management/administration automation experience
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
