Description For ADCE Manager, DBS - Analytics

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an Engineering Manager to join their specialized group working with the U.S. Intelligence Community. This role offers an exciting opportunity to implement innovative cloud computing solutions and work on some of the largest distributed systems in the world. The position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance and will be based in either Seattle, WA or Denver, CO.

The role involves leading the AWS DBS Analytics Ops team, focusing on operational excellence and continuous improvement. You'll be responsible for identifying and resolving operational challenges, building and developing high-performing teams, and driving automation initiatives. This position combines technical leadership with people management, requiring both deep technical knowledge and strong leadership capabilities.

As part of AWS's Utility Computing (UC) organization, you'll support critical services like Amazon S3 and EC2, while working with customers requiring specialized security solutions.   • Own the continual improvement of operations at AWS
  • Identify Builder operational pain points and drive actions to resolve them
  • Hire and develop the best leaders at AWS
  • Drive root cause analyses with software development teams
  • Report on service health at executive level
  • Meet with internal and external customers
  • Drive continual improvement through tool building and automation
  • Hire, train, and grow new AWS DBS Analytics Ops team engineers

Requirements For ADCE Manager, DBS - Analytics

  • Associate's degree, or Cloud+ or GICSP or GSEC or SSCP certification
  • 7+ years of relevant hands-on systems engineering and administrative experience
  • 3+ years of experience as systems engineering and operations leader
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above
  • Strong systems engineering fundamentals
  • Experience with distributed systems at scale
