AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We're looking for an Air Quality Engineer to join our diverse team of environmental compliance professionals. In this role, you will:
- Develop and implement environmental programs for air quality regulations and standards in the Americas
- Play a key role in air permitting and compliance for new and existing AWS facilities
- Partner with stakeholders to incorporate air quality permitting into planning, building, and operating data centers
- Manage strategic air quality engineering and air permitting projects
- Provide regulatory compliance guidance for design and operations teams
- Work with internal and external partners, including government entities
- Ensure risks to air permitting and compliance are identified, communicated, and managed
Key responsibilities:
- Manage air permitting work in AMER, including preparation of applications for new construction, modifications, amendments, and renewals
- Manage contracts with environmental consultants and testing firms
- Handle regulatory agency interactions
- Review environmental permitting requirements for new power generation technologies
- Identify permitting implications for power generation and supply to data centers
- Work collaboratively with various teams on large scale projects
- Implement centralized management systems supporting AWS growth and compliance
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience with air quality regulatory assessments and air emissions evaluations
- 5+ years of experience with air permitting at local, state, and federal levels
- 3+ years of experience with air dispersion modeling analyses (AERMOD)
- 3+ years of experience with engine-specific regulations
