AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As an Air Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in air permitting and air quality compliance for new and existing AWS facilities in the Americas (AMER) region. You will be responsible for developing and implementing environmental programs aimed at ensuring compliance with air quality regulations and standards while enabling AWS's growth worldwide.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing air permitting work in AMER, including preparation of air permit applications for new construction, modifications, amendments, and renewals.
- Managing contracts and relationships with environmental consultants and testing firms.
- Interacting with regulatory agencies for permit evaluation and processing.
- Reviewing environmental permitting requirements for new power generation technologies.
- Identifying permitting implications of both onsite and offsite power generation for data centers.
- Working collaboratively with various teams on large-scale projects to drive sustainable long-term energy supply solutions.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong experience in air quality engineering and air permitting in North America.
- Expertise in Title V, NANSR, and PSD air permitting in the US.
- Experience with data center permitting and compliance.
- Knowledge of natural gas and hydrogen-based energy generation.
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
