AWS Infrastructure Services (IREO team) is seeking a dedicated Cloud Engineer to support the Intelligence Community's mission. This role combines technical expertise with operational excellence in managing large-scale distributed systems. You'll be part of the team that keeps AWS's global infrastructure running, supporting all data centers, servers, storage, and networking equipment.

The position requires strong Linux/Unix administration skills and focuses on maintaining high availability, scalability, and security for AWS's dedicated cloud environments. You'll work directly with software development teams, handle complex technical escalations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key aspects of the role include supporting pre-launch services, monitoring live systems, implementing automation solutions, and participating in on-call rotations. The ideal candidate will combine technical depth with customer obsession and a drive for operational excellence.

This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technology while supporting critical national security infrastructure. The role requires an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph, reflecting the sensitive nature of the work.

  • Support software services before they go live in Amazon Dedicated Clouds
  • Maintain software services by measuring and monitoring availability
  • Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms and automation
  • Work with internal Software Development teams
  • Be a focal point for complex issues escalation
  • Identify areas to improve operational efficiency
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation
