Description For Amazon Dedicated Cloud Engineer, Region Reliability Engineering & Automation

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking talented AWS Dedicated Cloud Engineers to join their Region Reliability Engineering & Automation (RRE&A) team. This role focuses on ensuring the seamless operation of AWS's dedicated cloud regions through proactive reliability engineering, automation, and leading-edge solutions. The position combines deep technical expertise in Development, Operations, Networking, and Systems Engineering with DevOps philosophies.

The role requires an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph and involves working with critical infrastructure for government agencies. Engineers will work on implementing innovative solutions using technologies like Amazon Bedrock, conducting deep system analysis, and building automated solutions to enhance regional reliability.

The team operates within AWS's Utility Computing (UC) organization, supporting foundational services like S3 and EC2, while continuously innovating new products. You'll work alongside industry experts in an environment that values continuous learning, diversity, and work-life harmony.

Key responsibilities include developing automation solutions, expanding regional coverage, troubleshooting complex systems, and partnering with U.S. Intelligence and Defense agencies.   • Develop and implement innovative solutions to reduce repetitive tasks
  • Build systems that minimize manual intervention and allow for proactive issue resolution
  • Expand regional coverage for AWS's critical services
  • Conduct deep dives into system and service interdependencies
  • Proactively identify and resolve region-specific challenges
  • Collaborate with industry-recognized engineers

Requirements For Amazon Dedicated Cloud Engineer, Region Reliability Engineering & Automation

  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • 5+ years of systems administration experience (Linux/Windows or Networking)
  • 3+ years experience with cloud computing, DevOps, site reliability engineering, or software development experience
  • 5+ years of experience using debugging and systems analysis skills
  • 3+ years of experience working with at least one scripting or programming language
  • 3+ years of experience with the Linux command line interface
