Description For Applied Scientist - Computer Vision, Amazon Robotics

Amazon Robotics is at the forefront of developing advanced robotic systems that integrate seamlessly with human workers in fulfillment centers worldwide. As an Applied Scientist in Computer Vision, you'll be tackling some of the most challenging problems in robotics and AI, working on high-performance, real-time robotic systems that can perceive, learn, and act intelligently.

The role focuses on developing AI solutions that enable robots to learn from their experiences, each other, and humans, creating self-improving intelligent systems. You'll work on cutting-edge areas including scene and activity comprehension, large-scale generative models, closed-loop control, and robotic grasping and manipulation—all directly impacting Amazon's current and future fulfillment networks.

You'll be joining a team of top-notch scientists and engineers, contributing to both research and practical implementation of scalable robotic systems. The position requires expertise in computer vision, deep learning, and semi-supervised learning, with a focus on solving real-world problems that haven't been addressed at scale before.

As a senior team member, you'll help guide and mentor other applied scientists and engineers while working directly with customers to prototype and test new solutions. The role offers unique opportunities to innovate in areas such as item grasping, pose estimation, class imbalanced classifiers, identification, and segmentation.

This position combines technical depth with practical application, requiring excellent project management and communication skills. You'll work in a collaborative environment where your innovations will directly impact millions of consumers through Amazon's robotics infrastructure. The role offers competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and the chance to work on groundbreaking technology at a global scale.
