The AWS Core Networking Organization is seeking an Applied Scientist to join their Backbone Enterprise and Regional Engineering (BERE) team. In this role, you'll collaborate with Software Development Engineers, Network Engineering, and Finance teams to enhance network stability, consistency, and sustainability while maintaining high security standards. You'll apply your expertise in large-scale data analysis and computing solutions to develop algorithms, write code, and manage services that delight customers.
AWS Global Connectivity and Network Availability (GCNA) forms the backbone connecting the global AWS network, controlling internet traffic for worldwide user access. GCNA is responsible for building and designing a complex backbone network that enables efficient internet traffic flow between data centers and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
The BERE organization is responsible for designing, implementing, and operating a wide array of networking infrastructure that provides global connectivity between all AWS Regions and edge locations. They manage a network that grows by 70% annually and support the massive scale required for AWS customers and internal services.
Qualifications:
Amazon offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, financial, and other benefits. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year to $222,200/year, depending on the geographic market and other factors. Additionally, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of the total compensation package.
