Description For Automation Engineer

As an Automation Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring our automated systems function optimally to deliver customer orders on time. You'll work within our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team, a diverse group of technicians and engineers led by experienced managers.

Your role involves analyzing various data from control systems to sensors, using your insights to maximize equipment availability across our locations. You'll be working with automated equipment ranging from conveyor belts to sorting systems, coordinating troubleshooting activities, and implementing improvements. As an expert at your location, you'll also share your knowledge with colleagues and ensure Engineering Technicians are continuously trained in equipment troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

The position offers significant growth opportunities within both the RME team and Amazon as a whole. You'll be working with cutting-edge technology, some of which is unique to Amazon, including Amazon Robotics and our Complex Item Sorter. The role requires flexibility as you may work early mornings, late evenings, or night shifts to minimize operational disruptions during maintenance.
