Our logistics is the heart of Amazon. Automation is one of the methods we use to optimize our processes. As an Automation Engineer, you'll ensure our automated systems function optimally so customers receive their orders on time. You'll work within our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team, which consists of technicians and engineers responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting equipment across our global network of fulfillment centers.
You'll be responsible for analyzing various data - from control systems to sensors - and use your findings to maximize equipment availability at our locations. In this role, you'll use Amazon's latest technologies to solve complex productivity challenges. You'll work with automated equipment ranging from conveyor belts to sorting systems, ensuring they function flawlessly.
The role involves coordinating troubleshooting activities and implementing improvement measures. You'll share your expertise with colleagues and ensure Engineering Technicians in your team are continuously informed and trained on equipment troubleshooting and preventive maintenance. You'll often work early mornings, late evenings, or night shifts to perform maintenance with minimal disruption.
Our RME team is led by experienced leaders and focuses on reducing downtime at Amazon's key operational sites. We're constantly innovating, and if we find a better way to perform a task, we have the skills and opportunities to implement entirely new processes or groundbreaking technology like Amazon Robotics or our Complex Item Sorter.
This position offers numerous advancement opportunities within the RME team and throughout Amazon. You'll be part of a team that values diversity, innovation, and customer satisfaction, working with cutting-edge technology that sometimes exists only at Amazon.
