Description For Automation Engineer

Amazon's logistics is at the heart of our operations, and automation is key to optimizing our processes. As an Automation Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring our automated systems function optimally so customers receive their orders on time. You'll work within our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team, a diverse group of technicians and engineers led by experienced managers.

Your role involves analyzing various data - from control systems to sensors - and using these insights to maximize equipment availability across our locations. You'll be working with automated equipment ranging from conveyor belts to sorting systems, ensuring they operate flawlessly. You'll coordinate troubleshooting activities and improvement measures while sharing your expertise with colleagues.

The RME team is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting equipment across our global network of fulfillment centers. We work with exciting, innovative technology - some of which is unique to Amazon. From installing automated packaging systems to overseeing general maintenance and repairing mission-critical equipment, our team handles most of Amazon's technical tasks.

You'll often work early mornings, late evenings, or night shifts to perform maintenance with minimal disruption. If we find a better way to accomplish a task, we have the skills and opportunities to implement entirely new processes or groundbreaking technology like Amazon Robotics or our Complex Item Sorter.

This role offers numerous advancement opportunities within the RME team and throughout Amazon. All our activities focus on reducing downtime at Amazon's key operational sites to ensure customers receive their orders on time. Join us in pushing the boundaries of automation and logistics technology while working with a team dedicated to continuous improvement and innovation.
