Amazon Operations is seeking an Automation Engineer to join their Reliability Maintenance Engineering team, focusing on maintaining and optimizing technologies in their Global Warehouse & Delivery Network. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of Amazon's sophisticated fulfillment infrastructure, working with automated material handling equipment, conveyors, and control systems.

The position requires a skilled professional who can troubleshoot and improve controls solutions for various automated systems, including sortation systems, scanners, cameras, and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems. You'll be responsible for training Engineering Technicians and working with global teams to enhance system capabilities.

Responsibilities For Automation Engineer, Amazon Reliability Maintenance Engineering

  • Be the site level Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all controls systems and sensors
  • Train technicians in control systems fault finding
  • Monitor Material Handling Equipment (MHE) metrics
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects
  • Maintain system documentation and backup libraries
  • Support installation and commission of new equipment
  • Support other sites in the Mexico network
  • Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings

Requirements For Automation Engineer, Amazon Reliability Maintenance Engineering

Linux
  • Bachelors degree
  • 2+ years of experience supporting conveyors and sortation systems
  • Experience with PLC controlled automation
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, Ignition, Visio and AutoCAD
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (C1+)
  • Experience in material handling, flow and capacity visualization
