Description For Automation Engineer, Amazon Reliability Maintenance Engineering - IntlRME

Amazon Operations is seeking an Automation Engineer to join their Reliability Maintenance Engineering team. This role is crucial in maintaining and optimizing technologies across Amazon's Global Warehouse & Delivery Network. The position focuses on fault-finding, troubleshooting, and improving controls solutions for automated material handling equipment.

The ideal candidate will work with complex systems including conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, print and apply systems, scales, Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems, and control cabinets. They will serve as the site's Subject Matter Expert for controls systems while actively monitoring, fault-finding, and repairing systems to ensure high equipment availability.

This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge automation technology in one of the world's largest logistics networks. The engineer will collaborate with global teams, participate in continuous improvement projects, and help train other technicians to build technical capabilities across the site.

Key responsibilities include maintaining system documentation, supporting new equipment installation, and working with the Global Controls network to enhance monitoring capabilities and provide data visualization. The position requires a blend of hands-on technical skills and leadership abilities, as the engineer will need to both solve complex technical problems and guide others in developing their expertise.

Responsibilities For Automation Engineer, Amazon Reliability Maintenance Engineering - IntlRME

  • Be the site level Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all controls systems and sensors
  • Train technicians in control systems fault finding
  • Monitor Material Handling Equipment (MHE) metrics
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects
  • Maintain system documentation and backup libraries
  • Support installation and commission of new equipment
  • Support other sites in the Brazil network
  • Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings

Linux
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience with PLC controlled automation and issue diagnosis
  • Experience supporting conveyors and sortation systems
  • Experience in material handling, flow and capacity visualization
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, Ignition, Visio and AutoCAD
  • Advanced English Skills
