Description For AV Deployment Engineer, IT Services

Amazon IT Services is seeking an AV Deployment Engineer to join their Corporate Infrastructure Services (CIS) team. This role combines technical expertise in audiovisual systems with automation and deployment capabilities. As part of a global team of 10 Engineers, you'll be responsible for configuring and deploying AV systems across Amazon's corporate sites worldwide.

The position requires a unique blend of hands-on AV expertise and technical automation skills. You'll work with various audiovisual technologies, including system control processors, audio DSPs, and videoconferencing codecs. The role involves both remote and onsite work, requiring travel to different locations for system deployments.

Responsibilities For AV Deployment Engineer, IT Services

  • Configure audiovisual devices remotely using scripts and deployment tools
  • Configure, tune, and test audiovisual devices onsite
  • Modify existing deployment scripts/automation to improve capabilities
  • Develop new scripts or create tooling to automate tasks
  • Track project assignments and manage travel schedules
  • Communicate with Amazon AV project delivery managers on project status
  • Troubleshoot and escalate system issues
  • Communicate with external vendors including AV integrators

Requirements For AV Deployment Engineer, IT Services

  • Strong foundational knowledge in AV systems, including video conferencing equipment, sound systems, display technologies, and network infrastructure
  • Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in deploying, installing, and supporting/troubleshooting AV systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Experience with AV software, hardware, and control systems (Crestron, Extron, or AMX)
  • Understanding of IP networking, VLANs, QoS, and firewalls
