Description For AV Support Engineer I

The AV Support Engineer I at Amazon will be responsible for providing in-person service and support to all Amazonians utilizing AV/VC systems for events, meetings, and other needs. This role involves working with on-premise IT technicians, contractors, and integrators to troubleshoot issues with these systems. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of various AV standards deployed at Amazon and be capable of resolving complex issues.

Key responsibilities include:

  • On-site troubleshooting of AV systems, particularly complex integrated systems
  • Collaborating with IT technicians, contractors, and integrators
  • Communicating with manufacturers and vendors for equipment repair or RMA
  • Working closely with partner teams to improve customer experience
  • Maintaining clear communication with customers and stakeholders
  • Contributing to technical documentation and SOPs
  • Daily travel between sites in the metro area

The role requires a BA/BS degree in a related technical field or equivalent industry experience, with 2+ years of experience in the AV sector. The candidate should have experience with AV technologies such as Extron, Crestron, BiAmp, Cisco, Shure, and Poly. Strong troubleshooting skills, network technology knowledge, and excellent communication abilities are essential.

Amazon offers a competitive compensation package, with base pay ranging from $46,900 to $103,000 per year, depending on the geographic market. The company provides a full range of benefits and may offer equity and sign-on payments as part of the total compensation package.

Responsibilities For AV Support Engineer I

Requirements For AV Support Engineer I

Linux
  • BA/BS degree in a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience
  • 2+ years of experience in the AV sector
  • Experience with AV technologies (Extron, Crestron, BiAmp, Cisco, Shure, Poly)
  • Knowledge of control systems, DTP systems, matrix switchers, extenders, and audio DSPs
  • Experience with network technology including video and audio over IP
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong understanding of signal flow
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift or carry equipment up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to work at height (<= 8 Feet)
