AWS China Response Security Engineer

The AWS Cloud Response Team is seeking a Security Engineer to join their critical operations in Beijing. This role is fundamental to managing the security and availability of AWS Cloud services, operating on the AWS side of the Shared Responsibility Model to ensure "Security of the Cloud" and protect customers.

The position combines tactical security operations with strategic thinking, requiring candidates to work with both internal and external stakeholders to solve security challenges at massive scale. You'll be part of a team that's responsible for protecting one of the world's largest cloud computing platforms, handling critical security incidents, and driving continuous improvement in security practices.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include triaging security issues, engaging with service teams for remediation, communicating with senior leadership including the CISO, and participating in on-call rotations. You'll have the opportunity to build and improve security tooling, mentor junior staff, and drive automation initiatives to enhance security operations.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in information security, with experience in network and operating system security, cryptography, and incident response. You'll need excellent communication skills to work with various stakeholders and the ability to make risk-based decisions under pressure.
