Description For AWS Dedicated Cloud Engineer, Commerce Platform - Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC)

The ADC Commerce Platform team is looking for a System Development Engineer with a passion for continuous improvement. The team owns and operates some of the most impactful services in AWS and we are looking for someone to help us to continue to drive improvements and optimizations through automation and process optimization. Our systems development engineers work in a fast-paced environment across many disciplines, collaborating with other AWS teams to deliver cutting-edge services for our customers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Owning the scaling and management of services across AWS regions supporting the US Government
  • Driving continual improvements throughout Amazon's development lifecycle
  • Troubleshooting complex system operations
  • Finding root causes of customer issues
  • Investigating metrics and discussing new approaches to automate operational processes

The ideal candidate should:

  • Have a passion for development and operations
  • Possess a strong desire to learn and drive continual improvements
  • Have a solid understanding of Linux, networking, and general knowledge of cloud services
  • Be able to think big and simplify solutions to complex problems
  • Focus on operational excellence

This position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

Requirements For AWS Dedicated Cloud Engineer, Commerce Platform - Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC)

Linux
  • Associate's degree, or Cloud+ or GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional) or GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials) or SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner)
  • 3+ years of systems administration experience (Linux/Windows)
  • Experience working with scripting languages
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above
