Description For BI Engineer, AWS Kumo

AWS is seeking a BI Engineer to join their Analytics team within AWS Support organization. This role focuses on powering automation and self-service driven customer journeys using various Analytics tools to generate business-shaping insights. The Analytics team is a small, central group comprising members with diverse skill-sets in strategy & planning, Machine Learning, and Business Intelligence.

The position offers a unique opportunity to work with AWS, the world's most comprehensive cloud platform serving millions of active customers globally. As a BI Engineer, you'll be part of a team responsible for pushing Product, Process, and Customer understanding beyond the current state to create long-term value. The role involves hands-on work with data analysis, visualization, and ETL processes, while also providing opportunities to take ownership of customer and business problems from ideation to implementation.

  • Drive critical thinking and insight into challenging, unstructured problems
  • Work with leaders to bring insights into action
  • Take ownership of customer/business problems from ideation to implementation
  • Develop hypotheses and uncover key insights
  • Build and maintain ETL pipelines
  • Perform data analysis and visualization

Requirements For BI Engineer, AWS Kumo

Python
  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL experience
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience writing complex SQL queries
  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
