Description For Business Intelligence Engineer II, Operational Reporting & Analytics

The Operational Reporting & Analytics (ORA) team at Amazon is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE II) to join their innovative team in Austin, TX. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of Amazon Grocery through data-driven solutions. You'll work across multiple Amazon Grocery brands including Whole Foods Market, Amazon Fresh, and Amazon Go, designing and developing analytics products that support strategic goals.

The position requires collaboration with various teams including Software Development Engineers, Data Engineers, Business Analysts, Product Managers, and Program Managers. You'll be responsible for creating sophisticated analytics solutions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and flexibility.

Responsibilities For Business Intelligence Engineer II, Operational Reporting & Analytics

  • Work with leadership to define and execute the analytics strategy for Amazon Grocery
  • Design and develop user-friendly pipelines, data models, reports, and dashboards
  • Partner with stakeholders to design, develop, and implement KPIs, automated solutions, and data infrastructure improvements
  • Liaison with stakeholders to refine requirements and achieve project objectives
  • Participate in stand-ups, design BI solutions, and create documentation and artifacts
  • Lead and mentor more junior team members

Requirements For Business Intelligence Engineer II, Operational Reporting & Analytics

Python
  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL experience
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse
  • Python scripting experience to process data for modeling
