Description For Business Intelligence Engineer, Amazon Health Science and Analytics

The Health Storefront Tech (HST) team at Amazon is building a best-in-class healthcare product to make high-quality healthcare easily accessible. As a Business Intelligence Engineer in the HST Analytics and Data Engineering team (HADES), you'll work on analytics infrastructure, reporting datamart, self-serve analytics tools, and reporting solutions. You'll support HST Leadership, Engineering, Science, and Traffic teams, manage central business review reporting, and collaborate on cross-cutting initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Defining data elements for analytical and reporting capabilities
  • Designing and maintaining data models for metrics, reports, and analyses
  • Developing dashboards using business intelligence tools like Quicksight
  • Driving data democratization and enabling self-serve reporting
  • Partnering with various teams to support new analytics requirements
  • Managing and prioritizing multiple requests
  • Implementing secure reporting infrastructure for personal health information (PHI)

The ideal candidate will have strong data analytics skills, business acumen, project management abilities, and cross-functional collaboration experience. You'll work on both strategic and tactical levels, using customer insights to generate innovative ideas and building dashboards to measure business health.

Responsibilities For Business Intelligence Engineer, Amazon Health Science and Analytics

Requirements For Business Intelligence Engineer, Amazon Health Science and Analytics

Python
  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
  • Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field
  • Strong verbal/written communication & data presentation skills
