As a Business Intelligence Engineer at Amazon Pharmacy, you will:

  • Partner with Pharmacy business, tech and data science leadership to define and deliver a world-class data infrastructure
  • Architect scalable and resilient data solutions for real time and batch processing
  • Build self-service business intelligence infrastructure for Amazon Pharmacy analytics users
  • Work with SDEs/other DEs to invent, design and build data solutions that are stable and performant
  • Help your team evolve by actively participating in the code review process, design discussions, team planning, and ticket/metric/COE reviews

  1. Provides data warehousing solutions for undifferentiated heavy lifting
  2. Identifies and capitalizes on opportunities for privacy and security improvements, cost reduction, and greater organizational efficiency
  3. Continuously looks ahead to identify common patterns in analytics and 'pave the road' for Amazon Pharmacy teams
  4. Leverages our position as a central analytics team to surface key performance indicators for product and process improvements

Qualifications:

  • Experience building measures and metrics, and developing reporting solutions
  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience using Cloud Storage and Computing technologies such as AWS Redshift, S3, Hadoop, etc.
  • Completed Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
  • Master's degree in statistics, data science, or an equivalent quantitative field
  • Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
  • Experience with statistical analytics and programming languages such as R, Python, Ruby, etc.

Amazon offers a competitive compensation package, including equity, sign-on payments, and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year to $185,000/year, depending on the geographic market and job-related factors.
