Amazon's Customer Service organization is seeking to expand its Data modelling and analysis team with a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer role focused on driving automation, self-service, and defect reduction. This position offers an opportunity to work with a global team, solving complex data modeling challenges and directly influencing organizational strategy.

The role combines technical expertise with business impact, requiring proficiency in SQL, data visualization, and statistical analysis. You'll be instrumental in improving customer experience through data-driven insights and working alongside diverse teams including Applied Scientists and Software Development Engineers.

As a Senior BIE, you'll lead critical initiatives in data infrastructure enhancement, metric development, and strategic decision-making. The position offers exposure to enterprise-scale data challenges and the opportunity to shape best practices in data management.

Responsibilities For Business Intelligence Engineer, Amazon Store Customer Service Product & Tech

  • Lead data and reporting requirements for Amazon Stores Customer Service Product & Tech programs
  • Engage with senior leaders to generate insights and conduct deep dives into key metrics
  • Design, develop, and maintain metrics, reports, data pipeline & dashboards
  • Simplify and automate reporting, audits, and data-driven activities
  • Partner with Tech teams to enhance data infrastructure and data availability
  • Develop best practices in data integrity, consistency, validations, and documentation
  • Provide business intelligence consultation across teams

Requirements For Business Intelligence Engineer, Amazon Store Customer Service Product & Tech

Python
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Data Science, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in BIE roles with hands-on SQL and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with statistical analytics and programming languages (R, Python, Ruby)
  • Experience with metric creation, theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
