Business Intelligence Engineer, AWS Global Services, Strategy and Operations

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. Our team is seeking an innovative, insightful and result-oriented Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to join our Global Services Strategy and Operations (S&O) organization. The S&O organization is dedicated to working closely with the leadership team to formulate the medium to long term financial and strategic plans for AWS Customers across Global Services.

Key job responsibilities:

• Interface with stakeholders and business partners to gather data and metrics requirements, translate them into technical specifications and drive analytics projects.
• Develop reporting, analytics and decision support to enable the organization leaders and teams to create accountability and mechanisms for operational management.
• Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.
• Think creatively - we want someone that will extract insights and provide business recommendations.
• Own and maintain on-going analytics tools, BI models and visualizations to increase visibility into key measures of business performance.
• Mine data from database tables (Redshift, Oracle, MySQL, Data Warehouse), manage ETL processes and develop creative BI solutions to support ad hoc requests.
• Design data pipelines where needed for the present and to anticipate future business requirements/insights.
• Actively share knowledge and mentor, at a basic level, new BIE's (or new to the business) if and where needed.
