Description For Business Intelligence Engineer, Customer Service

Amazon Business Customer Support (ABCS) is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to drive next-generation metrics and business analytics with measurable impact. This cross-functional role involves collaboration with finance, engineering teams, and leadership across ABCS, Amazon Customer Service, and Amazon Business. The position focuses on developing strategic reports, designing UI, and leading projects that support the ABCS team and influence Worldwide Operations decision-making. You'll work with analytics professionals using machine learning to build automated systems and solve customer-centric problems. The role requires strong understanding of business profiles and analytics, ability to translate requirements into analysis, and expertise in data collection and analysis. The ABCS Analytics team maintains databases, data pipelines, and reporting suites, enabling data-driven decisions across the organization. The ideal candidate should be passionate about implementing solutions to complex problems and innovating with the latest big data techniques.

Responsibilities For Business Intelligence Engineer, Customer Service

  • Scope, design, and build database structure and schema to enable ABCS team members to self-serve
  • Create data pipelines using extract, transform, and load (ETL) connections/SQL queries
  • Retrieve and analyze data using Amazon's data technologies and resources
  • Design, build, and maintain automated reporting, dashboards, and analyses
  • Conduct deep dives to identify root causes of pain points and opportunities for improvement
  • Work closely with Certified Specialist Business Intelligence teams
  • Collaborate with finance and business partners to gather data and metrics requirements

Requirements For Business Intelligence Engineer, Customer Service

Python
  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
