Amazon's Deny Party Screening (DPS) team is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer to join their mission-critical operation. This role is integral to preventing prohibited transactions with denied parties across all Amazon businesses, including AWS. The team handles massive scale, screening over half a billion events daily using advanced algorithms and machine learning techniques.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge data technologies and multiple Amazon businesses. You'll be responsible for everything from ad-hoc reporting to long-term analytical projects that directly impact the effectiveness of Amazon's compliance efforts. Responsibilities For Business Intelligence Engineer, Denied Party Screening

  • Interface with business customers to gather requirements, drive reporting or analytic projects
  • Design, implement, and support datasets that provide structured data for reporting and analysis
  • Develop QuickSight dashboards across various business teams
  • Analyze billions of rows of data to find root causes behind variances and drive business insights
  • Investigate and implement new big data technologies

Requirements For Business Intelligence Engineer, Denied Party Screening

Python
  • 5+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
