Description For Business Intelligence Engineer – EU Transportation Forecasting, GTS Field

The EU Network Planning and Capacity team at Amazon is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to join their sophisticated logistics planning operation. This role is central to planning and optimizing the flow of billions of parcels across Europe annually, making it one of the largest logistical planning operations globally.

The position combines technical expertise with business acumen, requiring both strong analytical capabilities and excellent communication skills. You'll work with a diverse toolkit including SQL/Redshift, Quicksight/Tableau, Python, and Excel to solve complex network optimization challenges.

As a Network Optimization BIE, you'll be responsible for building sophisticated simulation tools, developing comprehensive reports, and identifying opportunities for forecast improvement. The role involves working with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making and optimize one of the world's most complex logistics networks.

The team's vision emphasizes the perfect blend of data science, data engineering, and business acumen. You'll be part of a forward-thinking group that focuses on building valuable technical solutions rather than simply following prescribed paths. This position offers the opportunity to impact Amazon's European transportation network significantly while working with cutting-edge technology and data analysis tools.

The ideal candidate will bring a quantitative background, strong technical skills, and the ability to communicate complex analyses clearly to diverse stakeholders. You'll need to balance technical expertise with project management capabilities, as you'll be responsible for leading initiatives from conception to completion.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about using data to solve real-world logistics challenges at a massive scale, while working with one of the world's most sophisticated supply chain networks.
