Amazon's Global Finance Services (GFS) team is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to support their Amazon Music finance team. This role combines technical expertise with business acumen in one of the world's largest data warehouse environments. The position involves working with large datasets to answer critical business questions and drive change.

As a BI Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing data solutions that flow from production systems into the data warehouse and end-user applications. You'll work directly with business stakeholders to understand requirements and implement reporting solutions using tools like SQL, ETL, Excel, and various visualization platforms.

The role requires someone who can effectively communicate across all levels and is self-motivated to derive insights from analytics. You'll be working with Amazon Music finance teams, supporting their business partnering initiatives through standardized performance metrics and analytics reports.

Key technical skills include proficiency in SQL (Oracle and Redshift), ETL tools, data visualization (Tableau/PowerBI/QuickSight), and scripting languages like Python, Java, or R. The ideal candidate will have experience in data modeling, pipeline design, and advanced analytics techniques.

  • Own production and delivery of analytics reports and dashboards for key business decisions
  • Deliver standardized performance metrics for global customers and stakeholders
  • Partner with BI leader in executing defined roadmap of projects
  • Provide ad-hoc support for SQL report creation, modification and optimization
  • Debug report issues and unblock workflows
  • Communicate with teams and stakeholders by providing regular status updates

Requirements For Business Intelligence Engineer, FinOps FP&A

  • 2+ years of experience as an analyst or engineer in the data/BI space
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, QuickSight, or similar tools
  • 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.
  • Experience with any scripting language (Python, Java, or R)
  • Ability to retrieve and analyze data using SQL, Excel, and other data management systems
