Description For Business Intelligence Engineer II, SCOT Topline Forecasting

The Supply Chain Optimization Technology (SCOT) team at Amazon is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer II to join their Topline Forecasting team. This role is crucial in predicting Amazon's growth trajectory and making strategic inventory decisions worth billions of dollars worldwide. The position combines advanced analytics with business intelligence to support Amazon's global inventory planning systems.

The ideal candidate will lead analytics projects focusing on forecasting, business monitoring, and data visualization. You'll work with internal stakeholders and external consumers of Topline forecasts, ensuring they have access to timely, contextual data for critical business decisions. The role requires strong technical skills in data analysis, visualization, and programming, particularly with SQL and Python.

As a BI Engineer, you'll be responsible for building customer-facing reporting tools, developing data-driven analyses to understand Amazon's growth drivers, and partnering with scientists and engineers to implement optimal analyses. The position offers exposure to large-scale, complex datasets and the opportunity to impact Amazon's global supply chain decisions.

The role offers competitive compensation ranging from $89,600 to $185,000 based on location and experience, plus additional benefits including equity, sign-on payments, and comprehensive medical coverage. Responsibilities For Business Intelligence Engineer II, SCOT Topline Forecasting

  • Build customer-facing reporting tools to provide insights and metrics which track forecast performance and explain variance
  • Develop data-driven analysis to understand Amazon growth drivers and demand pattern
  • Develop solutions that utilize the highest standards of analytical rigor and data integrity
  • Partner with scientist and engineers to implement optimal analyses
  • Manage and execute entire projects or components of large projects from start to finish
  • Serve on the front lines of forecast validation

Requirements For Business Intelligence Engineer II, SCOT Topline Forecasting

Python
  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience writing complex SQL queries
  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
