Amazon's Strategic Sourcing team within Supply Chain Optimization and Technology is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to drive critical supply chain decisions. This role focuses on systems designed to optimize costs and vendor performance across Amazon's massive supply chain operations, managing decisions that impact $100B+ in worldwide inventory.

The position involves developing sophisticated algorithms and learning from large datasets to make crucial sourcing decisions. You'll be responsible for determining optimal product sourcing strategies, vendor selection, supply chain setup, and vendor performance management through advanced analytics and business intelligence solutions.

As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, you'll work with multi-TB datasets, leveraging AWS technologies and advanced SQL skills to build and maintain critical business intelligence products. The role requires expertise in data science, machine learning, and statistical analysis, combining technical depth with business acumen to drive meaningful improvements in Amazon's supply chain operations.

You'll collaborate across teams, working directly with business stakeholders to translate complex data insights into actionable business strategies. Requirements For Business Intelligence Engineer III, SCOT - Optimal Sourcing Systems

Python
  • 5+ years of SQL experience
  • 5+ years of professional or military experience
  • Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills
  • Experience with AWS technologies
  • Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
  • Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
