Amazon's Global Talent Management and Compensation (GTMC) team is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to join their People Analytics and Compensation Analytics team. This role offers a unique opportunity to impact over 300,000 Amazonians worldwide through data-driven talent programs and processes. As a BI Engineer, you'll work directly with Amazon's senior leadership, including the SVP of PXT, to improve existing talent programs and shape the future of Amazon's talent landscape.

The position combines technical expertise in data analysis with strategic business impact. You'll be responsible for end-to-end business intelligence for Amazon's proprietary talent products, working directly with customers, leaders, and program owners. Your role will involve identifying opportunities, designing products, implementing data capture methods, and developing reporting strategies.

Responsibilities For Business Intelligence Engineer, Talent Management | Executive Reporting Analytics, People Analytics and Compensation Excellence

  • Align with leaders and customers to translate business issues into testable hypotheses answerable with data
  • Develop and execute analyses to drive talent insights
  • Create data capture and measurement strategies that drive business action
  • Drive a roadmap from descriptive to predictive analytics
  • Work closely with peers to access, pull, transform, and analyze data from various sources
  • Apply statistical tests to data, including t-tests, chi-square, and regression
  • Compile results and share findings to senior leadership
  • Build processes to scale fast and accurate on-demand and ad hoc data/analytical requests

Requirements For Business Intelligence Engineer, Talent Management | Executive Reporting Analytics, People Analytics and Compensation Excellence

Python
  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience writing complex SQL queries
  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
