Description For Business Intelligence Engineer, Talent Management | Executive Reporting Analytics, People Analytics and Compensation Excellence

Amazon's Global Talent Management and Compensation (GTMC) team is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to join their People Analytics and Compensation Analytics team. This role directly impacts 300,000+ Amazonians worldwide, working with a team of BIEs, DEs, and Data Scientists to drive data-informed decisions about talent programs.

The position involves working directly with Amazon's Senior Vice President of PXT and other executives to improve existing talent programs and explore new initiatives. You'll be responsible for end-to-end business intelligence for proprietary talent products, from opportunity identification to product design and evaluation strategies.

As a BIE, you'll leverage your analytical expertise to develop reproducible research and analyses, build proof-of-concept reporting tools, and enable self-serve data access for product teams. The role requires strong statistical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations.

The ideal candidate will have experience with data visualization tools, statistical analysis, and programming languages. You'll work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment where you'll need to be both technically proficient and business-savvy. The position offers competitive compensation, including base pay ranging from $74,100 to $165,600 depending on location, plus equity and comprehensive benefits.

  • Align with leaders and customers to translate business issues into testable hypotheses
  • Develop and execute analyses to drive talent insights

  • 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools
  • Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R)
  • Knowledge of statistical methods (e.g. t-test, Chi-squared)
