The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Data team is hiring a Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to support the data and reporting needs for the Safety Performance Insights (SPI) BI team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and delivery of BI solutions for complex problems
  • Conduct deep dive analyses and formulate recommendations to leadership
  • Identify opportunities to drive analytical reporting and business strategy
  • Produce written recommendations and insights for key stakeholders
  • Simplify and automate reporting, audits, and other data-driven activities
  • Partner with Data Engineering to enhance data infrastructure and access to customer insights
  • Develop best practices in data integrity, consistency, analysis, validations, and documentation

The role requires high proficiency in complex SQL scripting, joining multiple types of data sets, and communicating project roadmaps and prioritization with customer and stakeholder groups including leadership.

The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year to $185,000/year, depending on the geographic market and other factors. Amazon also offers equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation as part of a total compensation package.

Requirements For Business Intelligence Engineer, WHS Data

  • Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field
  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
