Description For Cabling Infrastructure Engineer (CI)

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is expanding its technician teams within the EMEA regions and has an opening for a Cabling Infrastructure Engineer (CI). This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity to work in some of the most innovative and fast-paced data centers globally. The Infrastructure Delivery (ID) team is responsible for scaling and physically deploying new data center infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Project managing small to large cabling projects within data centers
  • Installing cabling infrastructure in a data center environment
  • Understanding industry cable test procedures and equipment
  • Reporting status via ticketing systems and updates to Foreman/PM
  • Managing and coordinating materials delivery to site
  • Conducting physical audits of cable basket capacity and fire openings
  • Creating basket remediation projects and checking structural integrity
  • Submitting design packs and engaging with the CIPP team
  • Completing QA surveys and audits
  • Working with PIC and ID teams on scaling projects
  • Initiating regular training sessions for AWS staff and contractors

The role requires the ability to perform repetitive tasks, adhere to standard processes, and work in a team environment. It has a physical component, potentially requiring work in cramped spaces or elevated locations. Travel within the cluster or regional territory may be necessary.
