Description For Cloud Support Engineer

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking Cloud Support Engineers to join their Support Engineering team in Tokyo. This role focuses on providing technical assistance to customers utilizing AWS cloud services. As a Cloud Support Engineer, you'll be part of a team that delivers 24/7 Japanese language technical support, working with cutting-edge cloud technologies and directly contributing to customer success.

The position is structured around 10 technical profiles including Analytics, BigData, Database, Deployment, Development and Mobile Services, Linux, Networking, Storage and Content Delivery, Security, and Windows. Engineers are assigned to specific profiles based on their experience and preferences. The role offers a unique opportunity to work with over 200 AWS services and gain deep technical expertise.

New hires receive a month of comprehensive training before assignment, followed by a mentorship period to ensure smooth onboarding. The work environment promotes work-life harmony with well-structured shift handovers between global locations, eliminating the need for night shifts. Engineers have access to AWS services for self-development and learning.

Key aspects of the role include troubleshooting technical issues, providing solution guidance, collaborating with global teams, and contributing to service improvements based on customer feedback. The position requires both technical expertise and strong communication skills, with opportunities to contribute to the broader tech community through content creation and event participation.

The ideal candidate should have a foundation in IT fundamentals, particularly in operating systems and networking. While cloud experience is beneficial, the comprehensive training program makes the role accessible to those new to cloud technologies. The position requires Japanese fluency and English reading/writing abilities for global collaboration.
