AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is seeking a Cloud Support Engineer (Database) to join their team. As a member of the AWS Support team, you'll be at the forefront of transformational cloud technology, assisting a global list of companies and developers using AWS services. You'll act as a 'Cloud Ambassador' across all cloud products, helping customers get the most out of their Product and Support investment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Solving customer cases through various contact channels (telephone, email, web/live chat)
- Applying advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide tailored solutions
- Diving deep into the root cause of issues
- Coaching/mentoring new hires
- Developing & presenting training
- Partnering with development teams on complex issues
- Writing tools/scripts to help the team
- Working on process improvement and strategic initiatives
The role requires:
- Bachelor's degree OR equivalent experience in a technical position (minimum 2+ years)
- Experience with database performance tuning and troubleshooting (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
- Knowledge of NoSQL technologies (DynamoDB, Redis, MongoDB, Cassandra, Riak)
- Linux/Windows system administration fundamentals
- Understanding of distributed computing environments
- Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills

This is a 24/7/365 operation, and shift work will be required (1 PM to 10 PM IST).
