Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Cloud Support Engineer (Database) to join their team. As a member of the AWS Support team, you'll be at the forefront of transformational cloud technology, assisting a global list of companies and developers in leveraging AWS services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Solving customer cases through various contact channels (phone, email, web/live chat)
- Applying advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide tailored solutions
- Diving deep into root causes of issues
- Coaching/mentoring new hires
- Developing and presenting training
- Partnering with development teams on complex issues
- Writing tools/scripts to help the team
- Working on process improvement and strategic initiatives
The role requires:
- Flexibility to work 5 days a week (occasionally on weekends) on a rotational basis
- Night shift work (7 PM to 4 AM IST or 11 PM to 8 AM IST)
- Extensive knowledge of database technologies (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
- Experience with database performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with NoSQL technologies (DynamoDB, Redis, MongoDB, Cassandra, or Riak)
- Strong Linux/Windows system administration skills
- Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills
