Description For Cloud Support Engineer (Database)

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is seeking a Cloud Support Engineer (Database) to join their team. As a member of the AWS Support team, you'll be at the forefront of transformational cloud technology, assisting a global list of companies and developers in leveraging AWS services for their mission-critical applications.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a 'Cloud Ambassador' across all cloud products
  • Providing customer support through various channels (phone, email, web/live chat)
  • Applying advanced troubleshooting techniques to solve customer issues
  • Coaching/mentoring new hires
  • Developing and presenting training
  • Partnering with development teams on complex issues
  • Writing tools/scripts to help the team
  • Working on process improvement and strategic initiatives

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical position
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in Database Administration (Oracle/PostgreSQL)
  • Knowledge of Linux/Windows fundamentals and networking basics
  • Experience with DB Query Analyzers and query tuning
  • Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, S3, EBS, RDS, DynamoDB)
  • Understanding of security concepts and best practices
