Cloud Support Engineer (Database)

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is seeking a Cloud Support Engineer (Database) to join their team in Bangalore, India. As a member of the AWS Support team, you'll be at the forefront of transformational cloud technology, assisting a global list of companies and developers using AWS services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Acting as a 'Cloud Ambassador' across all cloud products
• Solving customer cases through various contact channels (telephone, email, web/live chat)
• Applying advanced troubleshooting techniques
• Coaching/mentoring new hires
• Developing & presenting training
• Partnering with development teams on complex issues
• Writing tools/scripts to help the team
• Working on process improvement and strategic initiatives

The role requires:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical position
• 2+ years of experience in Database Administration (Oracle/PostgreSQL)
• Knowledge of Linux/Windows fundamentals and networking basics
• Willingness to work in shifts (1 PM to 10 PM IST)

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with DB Query Analyzers and query tuning
• Exposure to virtualization technologies and AWS services
• Understanding of security concepts and best practices
• Experience in managing full application stacks
