Description For Cloud Support Engineer (Database), Support Engineering

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Cloud Support Engineer specializing in Database technologies to join their world-class support team. This role puts you at the forefront of cloud computing, where you'll support critical services including RDS (Aurora, SQL Server, MariaDB, MySQL), Database Migration Services, and Lightsail.

As a Cloud Support Engineer, you'll serve as a 'Cloud Ambassador' across AWS products, working with a global customer base to solve complex technical challenges. You'll apply advanced troubleshooting techniques, develop customer solutions, and ensure optimal database performance. The role combines hands-on technical work with customer interaction, requiring both strong database expertise and excellent communication skills.

  • Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques for customer solutions
  • Drive customer communication during critical events
  • Write tutorials, how-to videos, and technical articles
  • Work on complex customer problems across multiple AWS services
  • Coach/mentor new hires
  • Develop and present training
  • Partner with development teams on complex issues

Requirements For Cloud Support Engineer (Database), Support Engineering

MySQL

  • Administration experience with SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB, or Amazon Aurora
  • Experience with System Administration in Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat) and/or Microsoft Windows Server
  • Experience with Active Directory
