As a Cloud Support Engineer at AWS, you will use your engineering expertise to provide high-quality technical solutions for customers using AWS database services. You'll work with a wide range of customers, from small startups to large enterprises, helping them with their database needs. Your responsibilities include:
- Providing technical advice and support for AWS RDS services (PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQLServer, MySQL, Aurora) and Amazon DocumentDB.
- Assisting customers with database migrations to AWS.
- Troubleshooting complex issues and finding root causes.
- Communicating with customers through various channels (phone, email, web/live chat).
- Collaborating with other AWS teams to ensure excellent customer experience.
- Continuously learning and expanding your technical expertise.
- Potential involvement in training development, technical writing, and process improvement.
You'll work in a follow-the-sun model, with flexible schedules (Sunday-Thursday, Monday-Friday, or Tuesday-Saturday). No on-call or on-site customer meetings are required. Key requirements:
- Excellent Mandarin language skills
- Experience in database administration and SQL
- Knowledge of HA & DR topologies for databases
- Understanding of security best practices
- Linux administration and Unix shell scripting expertise
Preferred qualifications:
- Coding/scripting ability in languages like Python, Java, C/C++, etc.
- Database migration and ETL experience
- Knowledge of NoSQL technologies
- Familiarity with AWS and cloud computing concepts
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
