Description For Cloud Support Engineer (Deployment)

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is seeking a Cloud Support Engineer (Deployment) to join their team. As a Cloud Support Engineer, you will act as a 'Cloud Ambassador' across all cloud products, helping customers get the most out of their Product and Support investment. You will be responsible for solving customer cases through various contact channels, applying advanced troubleshooting techniques, and providing tailored solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working on a broad spectrum of technical issues
  • Coaching/mentoring new hires
  • Developing & presenting training
  • Partnering with development teams on complex issues
  • Writing tools/scripts to help the team
  • Working on process improvement and strategic initiatives

The role focuses on DevOps technologies, including automation, continuous integration, and configuration management. You will learn and use groundbreaking technologies, interact with leading engineers worldwide, and drive customer communication during critical events.

Responsibilities For Cloud Support Engineer (Deployment)

  • Solve customer cases through various contact channels (telephone, email, web/live chat)
  • Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide tailored solutions
  • Drive customer interactions by working with customers to dive deep into the root cause of issues
  • Coach/mentor new hires
  • Develop & present training
  • Partner with development teams on complex issues or contact deflection initiatives
  • Participate in new hiring
  • Write tools/scripts to help the team
  • Work with leadership on process improvement and strategic initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with global AWS standards, practices, and policies
  • Learn and use groundbreaking technologies
  • Interact with leading engineers around the world
  • Partner with Amazon teams in India to help reproduce and resolve customer issues
  • Provide feedback to internal Amazon teams on how to improve services
  • Drive customer communication during critical events
  • Drive projects that improve support-related processes and customers' technical support experience
  • Write tutorials, how-to videos, and other technical articles for the developer community

Requirements For Cloud Support Engineer (Deployment)

Kubernetes
Linux
  • Bachelor's degree OR equivalent experience in a technical position
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a technical position (Support or System Administration)
  • Experience with Kubernetes or containerization technologies
  • Understanding of hypervisor/virtualization and containerization concepts
  • Understanding of CI/CD framework and DevOps technologies
  • Experience in creating pipelines and managing source code editing and management tools (e.g., GitHub, CodeCommit)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code such as CloudFormation or Terraform
  • Knowledge or experience with system administration and troubleshooting any operating system (Linux and/or Windows)
  • Troubleshooting skills in Networking (IPsec, Load Balancing, Iperf, DNS, DHCP, Routing Protocols, SSH, Dig/nslookup, Curl, MTR, traceroute, TCP dump/wireshark, Network Monitoring, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and spoken) within technical and business settings
