Description For Cloud Support Engineer (Networking)

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking talented Cloud Support Engineers specialized in Networking administration to join their world-class team. This role combines customer support excellence with deep technical expertise in cloud computing. As a Cloud Support Engineer, you'll be responsible for solving complex customer issues, performing root cause analysis, and working with AWS's top engineers to support networking services like VPC, Route53, Network Firewall, and WAF.

The position offers a unique blend of customer interaction and technical problem-solving, where you'll use advanced troubleshooting techniques across multiple AWS services. You'll be part of AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS), working with leading companies and contributing to customer success through world-class support.

Daily responsibilities include handling customer cases through various channels, developing solutions, mentoring new hires, creating technical documentation, and participating in process improvement initiatives. Responsibilities For Cloud Support Engineer (Networking)

  • Solve customer cases through various contact channels (telephone, email, web/chat)
  • Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques for customer solutions
  • Partner with AWS teams to reproduce and resolve customer issues
  • Drive customer communication during critical events
  • Write tutorials, how-to videos, and technical articles
  • Work on complex customer problems across multiple AWS services
  • Support AWS Networking services (VPC, R53, Network Firewall, WAF, Firewall Manager)

Requirements For Cloud Support Engineer (Networking)

Linux
  • 6 months - 3 years of relevant experience troubleshooting networking issues
  • Experience with networking tools (traceroute, mtr, ping, iperf, dig/nslookup, cURL, tcpdump/wireshark)
  • Ability to work lawfully in South Africa
