Description For Cluster Project Design Electrical Engineer, Fleet Remediation Engineering

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As a Cluster Project Design Electrical Engineer in Fleet Remediation Engineering, you will lead design projects in operational data centers to remediate issues, upgrade existing infrastructure, and add new services. You'll be the 'go-to' engineering resource for these projects, providing lifecycle support from design through implementation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Owning the design for existing data center upgrades and solutions to add infrastructure, capacity, improve availability, and increase sustainability
  • Preparing/reviewing short circuit coordination studies and maintaining software models
  • Performing design and equipment submittal reviews for data centers in your region
  • Interfacing with various teams to promote standards for consistency and reliability
  • Working on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions
  • Acting as a technical subject matter expert during new remediation projects
  • Supporting construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover

The ideal candidate should possess strong engineering judgment, be detail and data-oriented, have experience managing engineering projects and consultants, build trust with stakeholders, manage design and as-built documents, prepare progress reports, and be willing to work in the field.

Requirements For Cluster Project Design Electrical Engineer, Fleet Remediation Engineering

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 1+ year of design experience with industrial or commercial engineering in Mission Critical facilities
  • Strong engineering judgment
  • Detail and data-oriented with familiarity with design/construction processes
  • Experience managing engineering projects and engineering consultants
  • Ability to build trust and relationships with different stakeholders
  • Skill in managing design and as-built drawings and documents
  • Ability to prepare and present progress reports
  • Willingness to work in the field
