Description For Colocation Electrical Engineer

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As a Colo Regional Engineer, you will drive Mechanical/Electrical Engineering services, construction and implementation of enterprise data centers, which meet quality and performance levels across the globe. You will work directly with our Design Engineering Stakeholders, Construction, Operations, and Commissioning teams regionally and globally. You will be leading projects to fit out the data centers we support to meet ever-evolving customer needs as we continue expanding our fleet to hyper-scale.

Key responsibilities include: • Work with colo vendors to review the design for new Data Centers in your region • Act as resident engineer during new colo construction projects • Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation • Provide technical support for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions • Interface with various teams to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability • Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions • Initiate and lead engineering site audits within leased or colo data centers

Responsibilities For Colocation Electrical Engineer

Requirements For Colocation Electrical Engineer

Linux
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 6+ cumulative years of experience with industrial or commercial engineering in Mission Critical facilities
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience using web-based and other software tools for calculation and data processing
  • Direct experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities, especially data centers
  • Experience as resident engineer or hands-on (in the field) design consultant or Registered Professional Engineer
  • Basic understanding of both mechanical and electrical equipment/design related to data centers
  • EPMS/SCADA/BMS Controls system experience (software and/or hardware)
