Description For Commissioning Engineer, AMER-Central ACx

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As a Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE), you'll join a diverse team supporting AWS data centers. You'll be responsible for testing and validation oversight of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure, reviewing design documents, leading Factory Witness Testing (FWT), and managing third-party commissioning vendors. Key responsibilities include multi-discipline input into scheduling, test script development, designing, and planning of projects, as well as reviewing component submittal packages and performing system level and integrated system testing. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in high-stress environments. You'll collaborate across AWS teams to coordinate site activities, prioritize tasks, and ensure issue resolution. This position involves coverage of multiple in-flight projects with aggressive timelines and may require up to 20% travel.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or 3 years of relevant discipline work experience
  • 1+ years of field level project support/execution
  • US Citizenship
  • Ability to relocate to the Columbus, OH area

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in high-stress environments
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for critical infrastructures
  • Ability to read and edit construction documents
  • Experience developing and executing test procedures for mechanical or electrical systems
