Description For Commissioning Engineer, AMER-Central ACx

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE) to join their team responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure. This role is crucial in maintaining AWS data centers and ensuring continuous cloud operations. The position involves working with electrical and mechanical systems, including medium and low voltage power systems, generators, UPS, HVAC, and building management systems.

The ideal candidate will be part of the Amazon Commissioning team (ACx), working on validating and testing critical infrastructure components. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in electrical and mechanical systems, along with strong project management and communication skills. You'll collaborate with various teams, manage third-party vendors, and ensure quality standards are met throughout the commissioning process.

Key responsibilities include leading Factory Witness Testing, managing commissioning vendors, reviewing design documents, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The position offers exposure to cutting-edge data center technologies and the opportunity to work on complex infrastructure projects.

The role requires 20% travel, US citizenship, and relocation to Columbus, OH. Responsibilities For Commissioning Engineer, AMER-Central ACx

  • Review design documents and lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT)
  • Manage third-party commissioning vendors in testing
  • Provide testing and validation oversight of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure
  • Review component submittal packages
  • Perform system level and integrated system testing
  • Audit activities for compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements
  • Provide comprehensive weekly reporting of project status
  • Coordinate site activities across AWS engineering, capacity delivery, operations, and contractor teams

Requirements For Commissioning Engineer, AMER-Central ACx

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or 3 years of relevant discipline work experience
  • 3+ years of engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems
  • 1+ years of field level project support/execution
  • US Citizenship is required
  • Ability to relocate to the Columbus, OH area
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally
