Description For Commissioning Engineer, AMER-Central ACx

AWS Infrastructure Services is at the heart of Amazon's cloud operations, responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As a Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE), you'll join a diverse team working on critical infrastructure systems including power systems, generators, HVAC, and building management systems. The role requires extensive travel (up to 80%) and involves overseeing testing and validation of data center infrastructure, managing vendors, and ensuring project success.

Responsibilities For Commissioning Engineer, AMER-Central ACx

  • Provide testing and validation oversight of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure
  • Review design documents and equipment submittals
  • Lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT)
  • Manage third-party commissioning vendors
  • Oversee pre-functional, functional, and integrated systems testing
  • Audit Cx vendors' activities for compliance
  • Regular reporting of commissioning progress and metrics
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Coordinate site activities across AWS engineering, capacity delivery, operations, and contractor teams

Requirements For Commissioning Engineer, AMER-Central ACx

Linux
  • 5+ years of engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or 5 years of relevant discipline work experience
  • High technical competency in mechanical, electrical or control systems
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestic and internationally for up to 80% of the year
  • U.S Citizenship Required
  • Understanding of design concepts and ability to review mechanical/electrical documentation
  • Ability to develop and review commissioning documentation
