Description For Commissioning Engineer, AMER-East ACx

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE) to join their team responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure. This role is crucial in supporting AWS data centers, focusing on commissioning electrical and mechanical systems. The position involves working with diverse teams of software, hardware, and network engineers, managing critical infrastructure commissioning processes, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and security.

The role requires expertise in various systems including medium and low voltage power systems, generators, UPS, HVAC, chilled water systems, and building management systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing validation, leading Factory Witness Testing, managing third-party vendors, and ensuring quality control throughout the commissioning process.

Responsibilities For Commissioning Engineer, AMER-East ACx

  • Provide testing and validation oversight of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure
  • Review design documents and lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT)
  • Manage third-party commissioning vendors
  • Perform system level and integrated system testing
  • Provide multi-discipline input into scheduling, test script development, and planning
  • Review component submittal packages
  • Audit activities for compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements
  • Comprehensive weekly reporting of project status
  • Coordinate site activities across AWS engineering, capacity delivery, operations, and contractor teams

Requirements For Commissioning Engineer, AMER-East ACx

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or 3 years of relevant discipline work experience
  • 3+ years of engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems
  • 1+ years of field level project support/execution
  • US Citizenship is required
  • Ability to relocate to the Columbus, OH area
  • Willingness to travel domestic and internationally up to 20% of the year
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to read and edit construction documents
